Since I have started exercising it seems to pack me full of some energy for 2-4 hours.  Sure I am more tired at night and I seem to sleep better too.  But the other night I apparently was sleeping through my son crying because he rolled out of bed.  Good thing the boxspring and mattress are right on the ground and not on a bed frame.  ouch!  My wife was also home who told me about it in the morning.

But the energy burst is like the commercials for Starburt.  I feel that rush for a while.  The last several days I havent been able to do it and I am starting to miss it.  Odd huh?  Not only am I becoming less fat but it seems like I might be getting more prude.  I always thought that older people love to exercise or people who were just too concerned about their body or the sports types.  Well I find it a bit refreshing now.  So foot in the mouth for that.

Success isnt measure by great leaps and bounds in my opinion but through the gradual and continual process in the achievement of a goal.  Goal can change and should be changed so we can first attain them and strive to do better.

It seems like forever when you are trying to lose weight. I am just around 17lbs now.  It is slower than I thought it would be but I am grateful for what I have lost.  It really did make me so happy when I went to buy myself some new shorts today and I have gone down 2 sizes!  I am stoked!  I also bought a shirt that wasnt XL or bigger for the first time in 6 years or so.

So go me and my incremental success.

Perhaps it is my fat old prudishness coming out but I just dont like to exercise in front of people and im just too cheap to buy any equipment for myself.  My wife has been saying that I should exercise and I would lose more and faster.  I have put it off since the first week perhaps mostly cus Im lazy.  So yes you can now call me a fat prude cus I am considering an hour of Dance Dance Revolution workout mode as my exercise.  To top it all off it is disney song version which I really hate actually but it is all I got.  I mean if it showed me music videos of Selena Gomez them I probably would dance my freakin socks off with absolute joy but when it is Cheetah Girls, HSM and Hannah Montana I just want to vomit.

I guess the vomitting would help me lose more weight too so perhaps I should definately stick with that. . .

Today I didnt keep track of anything and besides eating a lot of stuff good for me I did go to the drive in with my family and eat junk food and lots of it.  Im weak and while I did it there was some enjoyment.  Now that it is sitting with me I dont feel so joyful and I have heartburn too so there you go people.  Dont eat junk food.

Well Im closing in on 15lbs now.  Not much exericse in a while and virtually no walking done either so it is all literally changing how I have been eating. I at a salmon burger the other day for dinner and could have only eaten 3/4 of it been full which is quite odd for me.  I used to be able to get two and then some.  So needless to say it was disgusting what I did eat.

Well pants arent fitting again and Im really enjoying the food so far.  I have been a slacker lately so I havent gotten recipes up.  I have discovered the "low cal" menu of taco bell which I have done a few times while I have been traveling and it is fairly impressive.

The last few days I have been left asking myself the question "was that a diet?" I havent been so good lately.  Havent been eating well, havent been counting calories or points, no walking or exercise and yes I partook of some of the MSG goodness of Chinese orange chicken!  Lets face it making it homemade isnt the same.

Today I am back on track with food.  My wife is doing awesome working out every morning for the last 4 days!  Go babe!  Me Im starting back up on the food.  Perhaps I started to slack cus I lost more than her and she was starting to feel bad about it so I am over compensating.  The things we do for love.

Tonight was lime chicken with pineapple salsa.  I didnt have pineapple so I subbed in mandrine oranges.

Recipe:

1/2 teaspoon finely shredded lime peel
1/4 cup lime juice
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
6 medium skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (about 1-1/4 pounds total)
1 pound fresh-cut pineapple chunks (3 cups)
1 large tomato, seeded and chopped
1/2 cup chopped red onion
1/2 cup chopped red or green sweet pepper
1 4-ounce can diced green chilies, drained
2 tablespoons snipped cilantro
1/2 teaspoon finley shredded lime peel
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 clove garlic, minced
option 2 tablespoons of honey (stir in salsa) and/or 2 more tbs to brush on the chicken last little bit of grilling to get a glaze

1. Stir together the 1/2 cup lime peel, the 1/4 teaspoon lime juice, the cooking oil, salt, and pepper. Brush chicken with lime mixture.
2. Grill chicken on an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 10 to 12 minutes or until chicken is tender and no longer pink, turning and brushing with lime mixture once. (Or, place chicken on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 5 to 6 inches from the heat for 12 to 15 minutes, turning and brushing with lime mixture once.)
3. Meanwhile, place pineapple chunks in a food processor bowl or blender container. Cover and process or blend until chopped, but not pureed. Pour into large bowl. Add tomato, red onion, red or green sweet pepper, green chilies, cilantro, the 1/2 teaspoon lime peel, the 2 tablespoons lime juice, and garlic. Stir until mixed. Cover and chill until serving time. Serve with chicken. Makes 6 servings.
You can make the salsa 24 hours ahead and chill it in the fridge first.  I however didnt just made it fresh and just used my fork to cover up the chicken and eat it that way after the above pic was taken.  Enjoy!  Happy weight loss.  Should be 7 Weight Watchers Points

Well I have hit my first 10 lbs lost just over 2 weeks into this diet thing.  I must say that I actually like it.  I am eating less and foods that have less fat. I get to go walking with the family for some quality time and it is kind of fun.  Also experimenting with foods and cooking has been quite enjoyable.

I have had some photos take of the food I have made with their ingredients but I left my camera at a friends house and havent been able to get it yet so I will try to get it soon and get them up for whoever reads this if anyone at all.

I did however jog a little bit the other night pushing my son in a stroller.  No that was a work out.  I didnt realize how fast I can get winded and out of shape I am!  Hoping that will change soon.

So 10 down and at least 50 more to go!

The last few days I havent felt as hungry so I am back to staying lower on points.  I did get exercise today with the kids in the pool. They had me dive for their toys and bring them back for about half an hour solid.  So  came in and got dinner ready.  Fat and Prude takes on a Jamie Oliver recipe. Do I dare say that while qualified he and famous I did change the recipe up a bit.  Yes and it was due to accident.  I over boiled the potatoes which meant I couldnt grill them so I cut out the oil and just continued to bake them as directed.  They turned out great still.

The steak I just grilled on the George foreman grill mostly to save time but it did cook them great medium-medium well.  The picture below is mine.  Click the link above for the recipe to see the pic up on Jamie Oliver's site.

Not much has changed so far.  Im still sticking to the points thing so far and eating a lot healthier.  I rather enjoy it and I find that I can now stomach the every gross things like peppers and mushrooms and such.  Probably because I know I will starve if I dont eat them.  It could be perhaps that I am still morphing into an old prude each and everyday.  Guess I will have to work on that.  The fat is much more disgusting at this point so we are sticking to that plan.

I did however break down and eat 2 pieces of pizza yesterday. I was full after and I was suprised that I didnt feel as satisfied. Perphas that is because those 2 pieces of pizza contained the same amount of calories I consumed from 8am-4pm that sameday anyway...shock and awe for you can be inserted here.  Happy eating everyone!

Recipies to Come!
I am doing this from my mobile phone for the first time which is awesome and second a test to see how well it works. Since I am a particularly strict on blog perfection we will see how it goes. Things have been great food wise and diet wise. I am getting out walking with the kids riding their bikes or walking too. It seems for me this is working better than exercising in a room somewhere. So I will stick with it till I plateau in weight loss.

I am enjoying all the fresh food and spices. Buying thenm is kind of fun and cooking with them is more fun. Eating it all is so much better too! I am hoping to start posting recipies soon also. Stay tuned for that!
